How do I roast peanuts?

Fresh Roasted Raw Peanuts
Ingredients:

  • Peanuts
  • Salt
Roast single layer of raw shelled peanuts on flat pan or cookie sheet in preheated oven (350F), for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste. Note: For roasting raw, unshelled peanuts, in crease roasting time to 30-35 minutes.


Microwave Roasted Peanuts
Place one pound of peanuts in round glass dish. Place peanuts so that there are more peanuts around the outside edges of the dish. Cook about 5 minutes. Stir. Cook about 5 more minutes. Times will vary depending on the microwave and degree of doneness desired. Peanuts will continue to cook after they have been remove from the microwave or as the bowl cools.


Honey Roasted Peanuts
Yield: 1 servings
Ingredients:
  • 2 c Peanuts
  • 2 T Butter
  • 2 T Honey
Preheat oven to 350F. Place peanuts in bowl. Heat butter and honey together. Toss with peanuts. Lay on cookie sheet and bake at 350F for 5 to 10 minutes or until peanuts is golden brown.

Makes: 2 Cups


Chili Roasted Peanuts
Serving Size : 4
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 T Peanut oil
  • 1/2 T Crushed chilies
  • 1 T Cumin
  • 1/4 Ts Turmeric
  • 1 T Sugar
  • 4 C Raw peanuts
Preheat oven to 325F. Combine all ingredients except the nuts in a baking pan and mix well. Add nuts and toss to mix. Spread nuts in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden, stirring 2 or 3 times during cooking. Serve barely warm or at room temperature.
